__November News Letter
Moving into November once again we find our calendar full of events!!
This week the children are learning about Veteran’s Day. On Thursday, November 10th we will hold our annual Veteran’s Day Assembly. This year we are happy to honor our Mr. Hugh Brolly who served in the Army and spent some time in Korea. Mr. Hugh also just recently came back from a trip to Guatemala and brought us many pictures and cute artifacts from a Guatemalan school he visited. During Spanish class next week and at our assembly we will be sharing with the children about his experiences.
The children have been learning about the first Thanksgiving. They have been studying about the Pilgrims and Indians and how our first Thanksgiving came about. On Monday, November 21st all of our students will participate in our play…The Story of the Pilgrims. More details will follow…
Also, on Tuesday, November 22nd the children will enjoy a Thanksgiving Feast; you should have received a letter telling you about this annual festive event at school.
In conjunction with the upcoming holidays and our schools outreach program, we have requested to participate in the Philabundance Food Drive Program. Please see attached. Our food drive kicks off on Monday, November 7th and will be ending on Monday, November 21st. Any can goods that are extra from our Thanksgiving Feast will be given to this important food drive.
During Music Enrichment with Miss Rose this month the children will learn about Native American music with song and dance, and enjoy toasting marshmallows on our “fake” bonfire, etc… It is a fun and enriching experience for the children.
Recently, we have enrolled in the School Rewards Program at Giant Food Stores. If you or any friends and family who shop at Giant and would like to participate in this special program, please read the attached information and follow directions on how to register, or we would be happy to register you…please use the attached slip to fill out. This is a great and easy way for you to support our school.
As always, thank you for your continued support.
