Today We Released Our Butterflies!

5/23/2014

For the past few weeks, our P1, P2, P3 and E3 students have been learning all about the life cycle  of butterflies.  They were able to see the various stages of the life cycle personally in class.  Each class hosted several butterfly caterpillar and watched in anticipation as the caterpillars formed cocoons and later emerged as beautiful butterflies.  The children were able to observe the butterflies and learn about the things that they eat.  Although the children were reluctant to have their visitors leave, today was goodbye day and all the classes gathered in the big play yard to say farewell.  It was fun and exciting to watch the butterflies get energetic as they were brought outside and the students enthusiastically bid them goodbye in English and Spanish! Adios mariposa! Goodbye butterflies!

This year's 23rd annual Talent Time Assembly was a fantastic hit!  It was definitely two thumbs up!  There was an assortment of acts from singing and dancing, to comedy and feats of athleticism.  Our students can do it all.  They were truly amazing today, and we applaud their great talents and efforts.  We also want to extend a special thank you  to the parents and family members that came out to support and encourage. It was a fabulous show, and everyone had a great time!

May Day

Today is May Day!  Students and teachers celebrated the coming of spring by having a tea party and dancing around the May Pole with Raggedy Ann.  In the Auditorium Raggedy Ann told the children about how she came to have her special heart and she brought along some special friends for the children to dance with.  Lots of fun was had by all.
