Hip Hip Hooray!  It's Field Day!

6/18/2013

Today was "Field Day"!  A long standing tradition here at the Ted DiRenzo Montessori School.  We celebrated the end of another successful school year with games and a huge picnic on the front lawn! The games included bean toss, crate races, sponge races, and many more.  The students and staff enjoyed a hot dog lunch with chips, juice, treats, and yummy ice cream.  A special thank you goes to the Aldan Giant Supermarket.  They were so kind in donating wonderful treats for our Field Day.  A fun and exciting time was had by all!

Alex's Lemonade Stand

6/14/2013

Today we helped fight cancer one cup at a time!  The children were so excited about donating their money to help continue Alex's legacy of using lemonade to help fight cancer.  They colored beautiful pictures and wrote wonderful journal entries about their involvement with making their own Alex's Lemonade Stand.  We are thankful to the parents and families of our students for making today a success.  We know that a our efforts along with many others will make a difference.

Come With Us Across the USA!

6/11/2013

Today was "Across the USA" day!  All year long the students have been learning about the different states in our United States of America.  The students came dressed in t-shirts representing the various states and showed how they were able to identify the states on the map.  Each class gave a presentation on the special state they had chosen.  E3 did a presentation on New York, along with a live "Statue of Liberty"!  P2 chose to talk about Delaware, our nation's first state!  They let us know some interesting facts.  P3  decided Tennessee was the state for them and they showed many great things about Tennessee.  Did you know that the state insect for each of these states is the Ladybug?  We learned lots of wonderful information and had fun singing our "States Song" to close out the program.

Year End Show! "All You Need Is Love!"

6/6/2013

The children and teachers had a rockin' good time singing and dancing to great tunes from the Beatles.  This year's end of the year show celebrated "The Beatles", and our theme was "All You Need Is Love". The children learned some of our favorite songs from this great iconic group and had a lot of fun singing and dancing to songs like "Twist and Shout", "Good Day Sunshine," "All You Need Is Love", "She Loves You," and many more.

We also got a chance to celebrate some wonderful people. Mr. Hugh was given a special presentation for 11 years of great service and help and we wished Ms. Sue a happy birthday.  We were very proud of our graduate Tyler.  We really are going to miss him and wish him the best in first grade. We would like to thank all of the parents and family members that came out to support the show and cheer for their children.  A wonderful time was had by all!
