Our Annual Bee Day
The children enjoyed wearing their bee hats and learned that they “Can” do and “Bee” anything they want, they just need to try. It is a great way to start our “I Can” Program.
Parents Day
Parents had an opportunity to spend a morning or afternoon with their child. The children were excited to show their parents their classroom and all the special learning materials they work on each day.
Thanksgiving Feast and Thanksgiving Play
Enjoyed a special family style feast. Children helped set the table and made homemade butter.
Christmas Shut-In Visits
As a part of our outreach program a group of primary students went to sing for some local neighbors sharing with them some holiday cheer.
100th Day Celebration
Children enjoyed various 100th day countdown activities in their classrooms, counting each day since school began on September 7th. On the 100th day the children shared their projects and enjoyed eating 100 yummy, healthy treats. It was a fun day for all!
Special Valentine’s Day Giving Program
Our students performed at Collingdale Baptist Church where the children sang and performed for the seniors. They were excited to share their love and distribute special Valentine cards.
Special Person/Grandparents Day
Where our special visitors came to spend the morning or afternoon with us and enjoy a visit to their special child’s class.
Dr. Seuss Book Week
The children enjoyed bringing in their Dr. Seuss books, learning about Dr. Seuss, celebrating his birthday and making “Cat in the Hat” hats. Our own “Cat in the Hat”, Mrs. Sharon, read a special Dr. Seuss story.
Scholastic Book Fair
We had our 9th annual Book Fair which provided an opportunity for parents and grandparents to purchase books for their children while helping the school add many new, beautiful books to its school library.
Collection/Hobby Week
A school wide event where the children displayed their hobbies in their classes. The children had opportunities to visit each other’s classes and share their collections.
Talent Time Assembly
Concluded our assemblies for the school year, where many students sang, danced, did gymnastics and a variety of other talents. This year marked our 20th annual Talent Time Assembly.
Cinco de Mayo
The children learned about this special Mexican holiday and enjoyed celebrating this festive day with Mexican snacks and the Mexican hat dance. The festivities concluded with a special craft. It was a fun day for all.
Geography Day and Across the USA Day
A school wide event where each class conducted an in-depth study of a particular state. At a special assembly each class shared what they learned and the following day, during Across the USA day, the children and teachers wore t-shirts representing USA states. Children received special keys for their participation.
Earth Day/Arbor Day
Each class discussed the importance of taking care of our planet Earth. The children beautified the school by planting flowers in window boxes and gardens. We had a special visitor with the children a Native American Earth Day circle dance.
Alex’s Lemonade Stand
For the 6th annual year the children enjoyed raising money for this important cause. Each class participated by selling lemonade to the staff, parents and classmates. They made beautiful posters that were displayed in our yard.
Year End Program
All the children participate in this special event. Children sing and dance and learn to listen, move and follow directions during practices and this evening’s performance. They wear special made hats and designed program theme t-shirts. It’s a fun school event and a great learning experience.
Field Day
Children enjoy a variety of outdoor games, parachute play and a hot dog lunch here at school.
