We are having a busy month in the E3 class. The children have settled in nicely after the holidays and are making great strides in all areas of the classroom. This month, our unit study is on emotions and feelings. The children are learning how to identify through body language someone's feelings.... they have been having fun practicing making facial gestures of different emotions....especially making silly faces!!!! This month we welcomed Rudy to our classroom. He makes a great addition to our class and has made a smooth adjustment. During the Dr. Martin Luther King Assembly this month, our children presented what they have learned about Dr. King. Each child wore a hat describing Dr. King's dreams.... i.e... Unity, Loyalty, Freedom....etc. Also, they sang a song Freedom, Freedom, Let it Ring. During I Can time, Christian recited the Pledge of Allegiance. Way to go Christian!!!! The children enjoyed Music Enrichment classes with Miss Rose and Spanish classes with Miss Simone. This past week they learned a new word in spanish "estrella" which means Star in spanish. Also they are learning numbers and colors. In this new year we will continue to be teaching the children how to become more independent and self-sufficient.... we will be encouraging and teaching all of the children how to use a regular cup during snack time and lunch. You will soon be receiving more information on how you can help with this process. Happy New Year .... I look forward to sharing it with your child. Thank You! Dear Parents, The children in the E3 classroom have been busy in the month of December. We started December with our tradition of the dedication of our school Christmas tree!! Our Sharing & Caring collection is for families in need and for our fine Veterans. We are receiving many things and the children are making a beautiful "Let Freedom Ring" ornament. Also this month we have been busy learning about how important our 5 senses are and how we use them everyday. The children are having fun learning and singing Christmas songs as well as making Christmas crafts. Customs Around the World was an interesting school activity, Our class shared what they learned about the country of Ukraine. Please ask your child how the families in Ukraine celebrate their holiday season. E3 also enjoyed celebrating Las Posadas with Miss Simone. We sang song and tasted special snacks. Hugs to Miss SImone, we all love her. We expect a "special" visitor on December 23rd during our sing along Holiday assembly. Happy Holiday's and I look forward to sharing the New Year with your child and watch them grow!! Miss Theresa E3 Classroom 11/24/2011
